Incredible shot last night. It was kind of weird weather day with thunderstorms coming and going, and I had a feeling that something strange was about to happen. Animals react to weather changes long before they happen. So I recharged my camera batteries, applied liberal amounts of mosquito abatement to my exposed skin, and waited patiently in the field near the campground. There are several hundred acres of DNR land surrounding the campground and the local fauna take advantage of it.
It was shortly after midnight when I heard some noises in the woods and shortly later I snapped this photo from my tripod. There were more deer behind these two, but the flash must have startled them, because I only got a few shots, this probably being my favorite.

Wow. What a great shot John!
Its amazing how you removed the red eye from the deer. Seems I always forget that part.
And changing the tree to fall colors in the middle of July was another nice touch.
You'll the best. I'm impressed.
How's that tripod working for you?
