Location: Avenue O B&B in Galveston, TX
Why? I flew into Galveston the day before the cruise ship leaves for Europe. I found this place on the Internet. A very nice and interesting place and the owner, Connie, was gracious host and made me feel welcome. The interior of the B&B was fantastic as the pics show. The African Safari look is sooooooooo me.
I was little disappointed in the area around the B&B. It looked like New Orleans, after the hurricane. Many buildings were boarded up and most businesses were closed. I thought I was in the historic part of Galveston. Not so. My shuttle dropped off many guests in other areas that looked a lot better. Lesson learned. But it will take more than that to damper the spirits.
Just finished a fabulous breakfast. Super coffee, orange juice served in a tall champagne glass, fresh strawberries in a wine glass, a chocolate muffin with a mint sauce, and the grand finale was eggs Benedict with a Texan hollandaise sauce. Fantastic.
