Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Wow, where did the past 2 weeks go! Tomorrow, before 6am, the ship sails into Barcelona, my final destination, for this cruise. It’s my last night on the ship and most will be spent saying all the farewells to the many wonderful people I have met. It’s also the night you tip your head waiter, waiter, assistant waiter, and Stateroom Attendant. Since I sat at two different tables during this cruise, I have an additional three people to tip. In addition to that, there are the 27 bartenders that….ok, only 3 or 4 that served me. Many thanks to ‘Sammy’ who is the best.
Yesterday I spent the day wandering the streets of Cadiz, Spain. Absolutely wonderful! Had a great time and when I get to Barcelona, I shall post some pics of Cadiz.
I have to mention that it was an amazing thing at 3am this morning as the ship passed through the Straits of Gibraltar! On the right I saw the lights of Africa, on the left, Spain. I was told that the channel is less than 8 miles wide. There were quite a few people standing on the top deck doing the same. The Rock of Gibraltar was not real clear, but you clear enough to make up some cool story.
