Reason #9 for choosing Mexico as my 2nd home: People/Culture Part 1 of 3
People & Culture could easily fill volumes of books, but I have only a few pages to capture this reason. At first I was only going to post pics of locals, where they live, work, play, and what they do,sell, and eat. But after thinking about it, Mexico is also a gathering place of friends; from Alaska, Canada, Wisconsin, Ireland and places in between. Ergo, they are included in Reason #9. Enjoy. (If for some reason I have posted a less than flattering photo of you, please send $10 to the author and he will be glad to ‘Photoshop’ you. PayPal accepted. Lol)

Ok, before I forget, those two books I’m excited to read: ‘The Complete Trading For A Living’ by Dr. Alexander Elder with the Study Guide. (now that has to get most of you excited!) I can actually hear all my former classmates nod their heads in complete agreement as it is on our instructor’s required reading list. To put it in a slightly different perspective, let’s say you were studying to make dentistry your profession. You love that line of work and you know that it is critical to study about crowns and implants. You also knew that it would be a very large and lucrative part of your dentistry business. In order to pass that part of your test, you had to read one particular required reading book….how would you approach that task? In dread of boredom? I doubt it. More like in great anticipation.. Such is the book I am reading. (re-reading)
The 2nd book I am reading is called: “The Theology of the Cross” by Daniel Deutschlander. Sure, now you think the first book isn’t that bad. Lol Some of my readers know this, but one of the reasons I am in Mexico this year is to write a paper. A paper on theology. Not because I have to, but because I want to. I am but a sinful and humble messenger of Good News; news that is quite simple, very clear and absolutely free. And I plan to share it. (the details are in the paper)
It’s easy to read a trashy fiction novel filled with suspense, terror, greed, and lust. Or you can just read the local newspaper. (some humor intended) No, I’m not bashing you book readers, I also, while in Mexico, read a few of them. The challenge for me lies in picking up a book or two that make you stretch your mind. Makes you exercise that grey matter. Something like a good chess game. Which reminds me, I haven’t played one in a long time. Of course after you get your AARP card, you are allowed to play solo-chess, where you are your own opponent. All it requires is that you take a 5 minute break between moves because at that age, you won’t remember the last one. Careful, you might also forget who moved last. Lol
